Empathy

I'm drawn to your energy 
You are all that will matter
The higher the frequency
The less likely I'll shatter

The more emotional you are
The more near I want to be
The reason for it happening
We call it Empathy

I have mental boundaries
I align them with my soul
But the more that you are feeling
The more I need control

I have a heightened sensitivity
To sensations and to sound
I get overwhelmed too easily
If many people are around

After years of being an Empath
Life can still be tricky
And sometimes I get too drained
And it makes me feel so icky

One way you can assist
Is by putting up a wall
Wrap it around your mind
And it will help to guard it all

Of course this doesn't mean
That I'm not gonna help you out
That would go against my nature
And that's not what I'm about

An Empath will always offer aid
And be a champion of you
But we must protect ourselves
To ourselves we must be true

So when you need an Empath
Just give a mental yelp
And we will be right over
To offer you some help
